The Rock of Ages Cafe is an outreach ministry of Good Samaritan Community Covenant Church
in Valley Springs California. The ROA was was founded by a small group of friends who hoped tocreate a safe environment for christian artists to share their gifts with the community. We combine music, art work, food and fellowship in an effort to share Christ with our neighbors. Come see for yourself, Rock Of Ages Cafe will be the resting place for your body, mind, & spirit.

The ROA Cafe meets once a month (usually on the third saturday) from 7-9 pm. We provide coffee, snacks and child care...come and hang out!

Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us give a joyous shout to the rock of our salvation! Psalm 95:1

Dan Johnson

Music has always had a special place in my life. As a Junior in High School, I was selected to be one of two young people to represent the State of Oregon, joining two from every state in the Union, for the Junior High National Honors Choir. I have had the privilege of singing for thousands of excited Korean youth in outdoor venues across North Korea. I have witnessed the amazing beauty of the reserved Japanese people as they worship the Lord in places of worship throughout Japan. I have seen many different expressions of worship through music across the United States and Canada. I have sung back-up for great worship leaders like Ron Kenoly, Alvin Slaughter and Donny and Reba McGuire. Yet, when the local church I attend unites and lifts its praise to God I still stand in wonder like I have in other times and places around the globe. There is just something awesome and beautiful about worship, no matter where it is expressed.

Music is awesome and wonderful, but Music used to express love for Christ has no equal in my life. I pray our time together sparks a song of love in your heart for the One who loves you most.

Dan earns a 1 cup rating on the "caffeine-o-meter"

We realize some people like their coffee stronger than others. That's why we invented the "caffeine-o-meter". The meter isn't an indicator of a performer or band's quality...all performers at the ROA are awesome! Rather it is an indicator of how "strongly" the band expresses themselves. In other words, if you like Neil Diamond, an "espresso" band might be too much for ya.

Decaf-
These performers are nice easy listening types. They are usually solo artists with an acoustic guitar or piano accompaniment.

Halfcaf-
Still pretty low key with more instruments. May have some up beat tunes, but very easy to listen too....nice stuff.
Strong Cup of Joe-
This is where we might start to lose some of our piano bar type listeners. Fully amplified blues or pop bands fit here.
Espresso-
These performers are full-on rock bands that usually don't feel like it's music unless it's turned up a bit too loud! Yea baby!
Pure Caffeine-
Go ahead and eat a handful of coffee beans, put on your shades and strap yourself in.
